A Catalunian odyessey - 

Beau Vallon is on the Massif de Canigou and borders two nature reserves. There is a wealth of  places to see and things to do.  

Apple Festival – October each year. The valley is famous for it’s apples.

oad bikes – the road up to Mantet is chosen training ground

Collecting – mushrooms, moths.
Ecology – tour the nature reserves, enjoy the wild flowers
Equitation – trek up the mountains on horseback.
Festivals-  go from village to village and enjoy the traditional festivals. Sahorre has fétes, dancing and boules competitions.
Pablos Casals’ Music Festival in August . The organisers bring renowned musicians from all over the world. Early booking is essential.
Fishing – Fario and Rainbow trout in the river La Rotja. Visit the fisheries across the road.
Gourmandising – take the local ‘la Rotja, Valley Gourmand’ tour from Sahorre and enjoy the local cheeses, honey, wines, hams, fois gras, fruits plus handicrafts.
History -  Catalunia is rich in history.  Visit nearby Villefranche de Conflent (15th C.),  St Michel de Cuixa, St Martin de Canigou, Serrabonne and many other local historical sites.

Rich in mining history – take a historical tour of the iron mines.
Painting/photography – you will feel privileged just to observe the mountain scenery, capture it on paper and take it home.
Yoga group - classes at Beau Vallon by arrangement.
Site seeing – explore the limestone caves nearby they are spectacular.
Thermal baths – enjoy St Thomas les Bains outdoor pool and jacuzzi.
Touring- take an all-day trip on the Little Yellow Train through the high Catalan plateaux to Bourg Madame.
